The Halloween Season is quickly approaching us and with it Brick Hill has plenty of tricks and treats to give for the entire month of October! Read below for what's to come.

Weekly Activity Cards

Whether you'd want to use these cards as tarot cards or playing cards there is one thing for sure. They hold the great magic of revealing new fun! Come back to Brick Hill each week, with Week 1 running from Oct 4th - Oct 8th and Week 4 running Oct 24th - Oct 29th to see three unique cards revealed every week with new activites!

What kinds of activities will the cards reveal? A few of the potential things you'll see this Halloween season are..

New Items

This Halloween features over 50 different new spooky items and a countless amount of older spooky items returning! Don't worry, many of these will be free of charge and can be earned from doing different tasks! Who knows? Your card might just reveal a new addition to a series!

Contests

This Halloween you'll get to show your creativity (or submit lazily for a participant prize) through many different opportunities taking place throughout the month, each will have it's own unique twists from the usual format so be ready to have your ideas heard!

Sets

If you've stopped by to look for some fun this season, no worries! Some cards may even reveal brand new event sets with lots of items to gain in each! What're these sets you may ask? Time will slowly reveal the adventures you'll have to face this season!

Of course we don't want to spoil all the tricks under our sleeves, so we'll be keeping some details of what's to come secret... so make sure to keep checking for all the treats we have in store!

This Event Has Ended

Hello! This blog post remains up as an archive of Brick Hill history, however the Egg Hunt 2022: It's About time event has now ended!

Hello Brick Hill Users, after much anticipated waiting the Egg Hunt 2022: It's About Time event has arrived and is available now until June 5th, 2022!

The Eggency requires your help as new Eggents to hunt and track down over 36 different eggs spanning across 5 different worlds, including some on-site objectives! To help you in your mission we have set up some tools for you to utilize, such as the Eggometer Compass to help guide you through all the different worlds about what progress you have, as well as our event page which displays more information about each world and it's eggs you'll need to crack down on.

To help you begin your mission, below is some details about each world and what you can expect when you're progressing through this lengthy eggventure!

Scrambled Isles

Your first target will be the pirate claimed set of islands known as the Scrambled Isles, here there is plenty of loot to collect! Including climbing up the large volcano in the center of the island to unlock the Molten Egg as well as exploring through the ancient temple in hopes to unlock The Kreggen!

Along your journey you'll also run into some pirates who can potentially give you more information about what has happened to the island, it's yours to discover!

Deadshell Desert

Once you've managed to grab all the loot from the pirate island, get into your best cowboy gear and make your way over to the Deadshell Desert! A wild western map home to plenty of different areas to find lost eggs, such as working to dig up the Prehistoric Egg of Cracking Discoveries with Jane the Fossil Investigator or heading to the minds to strike the glamarous Ggeode.

The barren landscape is home to many whom may know a thing or two about this whole time travel craze, speak to them for more information, some may even have tasks for you!

Yolkshire Hills

Your next stop is here, the always sunny and vegatative Yolkshire Hills! Check out the medieval village where there's lots of royals, farming, and other fun hobbies! Watch out though, make sure to avoid player contact or you may catch that rampant Pleggue! While here, make sure to check out the king's castle he happens to have some fun games of Rock, Paper, Scissors going on, which you will need to win three times to get the Reggal Egg of Crowned Yolks.

The village is home to many different identities, make sure to check in with them, they may know more than you think!

Arctic Research Complex

At last, you have reached the final destination! (for now) You have managed to sneak into one of Brick Hill's most prestegious laboratories, I'm not sure how. While you're in here you should work to get as many of the eggs they hold here as possible! Such as freeing the Power-Egg by disabling the reactors of the lab or sneaking through lab automatic security to collect the Robo-Yolk!

Remember, you're not supposed to be here! Keep a low guard, who knows what they are up to in here...

Now that you're all caught up on the worlds, you are ready to begin your mission! Start cracking down on those eggs! The future of Brick Hill may just depend on it..

Hello Brick Hill users, welcome to the seventh edition of the Brick Hill Spotlight! It's been a quick minute since the last time we met. Last article we spoke with the inspiring creator Tylorfoot on some of his best scripted sets, as well as going over some of the great work behind them. However if you've been here before or are just checking in for the first time, you should know that there's no time to waste & there's creators, shirt designers, traders, forumers, & inspiring people to check out!

So, with all of that out of the way, it's time to get back into spotlight with our next entry in the series, meeting with another innovative creator, into the User Spotlight!

User Spotlight

The options for Brick Hill sets grow by day! Many in their own ways share unique qualities, whether it be the building or the gameplay to it, however one thing is for certain in that some of the best sets for the ones that bring unique new concepts to Brick Hill!  

One of the first names that should come to mind when brining up unique experiences is Noah Cool Boy! With over 4.7k visits Noah Cool Boy has quickly risen to making some of the most unique experiences on Brick Hill! Some of his most known would be Rap Battles, a set where you and your friends see who can rhyme better, and... who can't in an epic battle of words!

Another one of Noah Cool Boy's biggest sets is Wait 4 hours to be able to leave the house, the title explains it all! It is a unique experience where you and some peers can jump in and see who can stand the test of time. An impressive 20+ people have stepped up to the challenge and actually surpassed it!

Noah Cool Boy is a creative scripter in sets, but what he shines in sets also shines to the Brick Hill website! Noah Cool Boy has taken it upon himself to add some very cool features to the website through his own script extensions. Whether you want to randomize your avatar like the old days, calculate peer's forum posts per day, change your timezone, apply a nice sleek style to your Brick Hill page, or even export your brick hill builds into programs like blender, Noah Cool Boy works very hard and you can check out his themes and scripts here!

These script extensions and sets are some of the most unique and innovative to ever come to Brick Hill and it's no doubt Noah Cool Boy is making the platform a better place! We got a chance to speak to Noah Cool Boy about these projects and the work behind them, those questions are below.

How'd you come across Brick Hill & what has kept you?

I discovered Brick Hill with KonekoKitten's video. I was bored out of roblox, so I said why not give it a try! I loved the small and kind community, and wanted to contribute to the platform.

How did you get into coding?

I don't remember exactly how I discovered coding, but I do remember how I learned it. I wanted to learn it, and took a book about programming for kids in the library. It tought scratch and python. After learning both of those, I wanted more and started expanding my knowledge to more programming languages.

What keeps you motivated in making both your sets, themes, and scripts?

It probably is the positive feedback of everyone. I like getting comments telling me what I should improve to my creations.

Of the sets you have created, which is your favorite and why?

That has to be rap battles. As I was looking for game ideas, I thought of a game where people could compete in having the best diss track. The lyrics people come up with are really funny sometimes.

Which was the hardest to make?

When the second node-hill game contest was organized, I was thinking "Why not make a shooter game?". That's when I made blaster master. It was the first time I was making a game with guns. I had no experience with collision checking and bullet movement. In the end, I was pretty proud of it.

Of the scripts you've made (and possibly future ideas) what do you hope to see added to Brick Hill?

It would be great to have the "Brick Hill Timezone Modifier" implemented officially on the website. It can be really confusing for some people to use the 12 hour and DD-MM-YYYY format. Another addition which would be great to see are the Forum Edits. I have had many cases where I misspelled a word.

What advice would you have to others looking to develop?

Never lose motivation. I have a programming folder full of unfinished projects which I gave up on. And the main reason is because I hit a roadblock while coding, struggled to find a solution and then just abandoned the project.

Is there anything we should be expecting for the future of Noah Cool Boy soon?

There might be a forum search soon ;)

Hello Brick Hill users, welcome to the sixth edition of the Brick Hill Spotlight! We've already made it to six, with many more to go! Last time we got a chance to catch up with the talented creator Aidaan to check out his uniquely complex sets as well as the work behind making the creations. But there's no time to waste, creativity, hard work, and plenty of talent runs strong in Brick Hill no matter what the source may be, and we're just scratching the surface!

Now that you've heard all of that, it's time to get straight into our next entry of the series and get together with another talented creator, into the User Spotlight!

User Spotlight

Brick Hill's offers of sets range in their qualities, many focus on building, whether you're just looking for a city to cruise in or a beach to hang out at, and an even rarer quality in Brick Hill is that of scripting. Scripting in Brick Hill is no easy task, and coming across an excellently scripted game is an experience that can lead to hours of fun and adventure with your peers. These unique experiences don't always come often, but when they do they definitely shine.

Among these scripted games comes creator Tylorfoot, who is without a doubt one of the most talented and inspiring creators on Brick Hill. With over 42k visits and growing fast, Tylorfoot's games are enjoyed in the thousands. Some of his most popular works are Brickbreak Minery Co., a competitive quarry game where you are mining overtime just to stay ahead of your fellow competition.

Another hit game of Tylorfoot's is the popular Ultra Dash Racing, another competitive game where you work to speedrun across two different impressive maps, maneuvering your way through parkour jumps, moving obstacles, and your worst enemy - other players, As fast as possible.

The sets do not stop there, and Tylorfoot has made many unique experiences to Brick Hill that either by yourself or with the company of peers provide for lots of fun. The sets are consistently updated, and you can learn more both about upcoming projects and updates to these current projects on Tylorfoot's Brickbreak Co. discord server. Some of these project also use SmartLion's sound-brick script which allows for sounds in the sets. (steps on how to set this up are in any corresponding set). Additionaly, Tylorfoot has even kept us his own lore connected to these sets, making for some interesting backstory if that's your alley.

This innovation doesn't stop in it's tracks, and Tylorfoot is no stranger to being in the spotlight! We got a chance to revisit with Tylorfoot and learn more about his projects and the process behind them!

Nearly 2 years has passed, and you're still going strong! What has kept you on Brick Hill?

Really, it's just the not-so simple act of game development. Not only that, but seeing people enjoy my games and give suggestions motivates me more than usual to create games on Brick Hill.

Have you grown and improved over the last 2 years?

I would say that i've grown immensely since those two years. The quality of my games compared to those two years has skyrocketed, and even though I had a hiccup with the transition from GML to Javascript, I still managed to pull through.

Which of your sets is your favorite?

Out of all of the currently released sets, I would say Survival. It has the most opportunity and potential to be truly great.

What was the hardest set to make?

For me, difficulty in set creation comes more from ideas rather than programming hurdles. Or at least, that's what i've encountered more often so far. Either way, the contenders for hardest set would be the node-hill remasters of Cylinder Search and Brickbreak Minery Co. Cylinder Search games are naturally difficult to create, because there has to be an entirely new objective for each cylinder. Not only that, but there's a big focus on the map of a Cylinder Search game. I'm not the biggest fan of building, so it's quite the hurdle. Brickbreak Minery Co on the other hand, has gone through numerous design changes. From turning minerals into bricks, to collectible trinkets and crafting, there was quite a lot of features that were scrapped.

How do you come up with your ideas for sets?

Most of my ideas for sets have been from other games that I've played. I'll take those ideas and mix them with my own. After lots and lots of polish, you've got a new Tylorfoot game!

About 2 years ago you said your newest project was Tylorfoot Cylinder Search 3, what can we expect in the future from Tylorfoot now?

I've got a ton of projects i'm working on at one time, so much so that I've decided to create and showcase this teaser image. It may not be the best looking image, but you'll be informed of my upcoming projects in greater detail. (and for those not in the know, Tylorfoot Cylinder Search 3 was unfortunately cancelled in the transition from GML to Javascript)

What advice would you have today for other creators in contrast to your previous advice?

Due to certain circumstances, that advice is no longer valid in my eyes. Right now, the only advice I can give is to do research & ask for help. Whether it's game design or programming, it's best to know what you're getting into.

Hello Brick Hill Users, welcome to the fifth edition of the Brick Hill Spotlight! The new year is here, and last year we managed to get the chance to meet and learn more about four outstanding users of Brick Hill! Just before we left for the holidays we met with the creative set builder rowbot to learn of his many inspiring creations & the process behind such a venture. However, with the new year we have many more users to meet over the course of the next few months, and there's no time for delay!

With all of that said and done, it's time to head into our next entry of the series and meet even more outstanding users of the community, and this article we've got just that, into the User Spotlight!

User Spotlight

Brick Hill over the last few years has gained 100s to 1000s of different sets, builds vary drastically in topic and such design. However a key look that usually comes by the platform is a notable simple to most of the builds. This simple feel works well and the sets themselves look great, however these boundaries of the client can be pushed, and the results are outstanding.

One of the most talented creators to take a more detailed route in his builds is user Aidaan. Whether it be a simple obby or an expansive area, Aidaan goes to the next level with his builds, adding in great detail and along the way making his sets look amazing. When used in the new client technology Brick Hill is currently developing, these details shine even further.

Amongst just the details, many of Aidaan's builds are also creative and show great quality in what the Brick Hill platform can truly show for. The content of these builds is also strong in variety, some builds are cities, some are minigames, and others can be as point blank as a kitchen, regardless Aidaan's builds are some of the most detailed and impressive that Brick hill has to offer.

These sets have been viewed by many, and his increasing count of over 3,000 game visits also goes to show, I had a chance to get to talk with Aidaan and ask him questions regarding his builds and what advice he offers to others looking to make similar projects, those questions are below.

How'd you come across Brick Hill & what kept you?

Like most Summer 2019ers, my joining was impart due to Koneko Kitten, though not fully. One of my close friends had watched the famous videos and messaged me one morning to this Roblox-like game called "Brick-Hill", and I did. Honestly, at first, it was the forums that kept me. I saw it as a way to become known and as a way to start my journey on Brick-Hill. I was also extremely competitive with forum posts. Some other factors were the community, the awesome items, and just the overall atmosphere. It's impossible now to become known on something like Roblox unless you have significant skills in the content creator or dev industry so Brick-Hill was something I found refreshing.

How'd you get into building?

My interest really came to be in 2020, for the whole of 2019 I had a little Mac laptop but seeing how I had gotten a Windows for Christmas, I decided to try out the things I'd never been able to. I liked the idea of being a "developer" so I began trying to learn how to host and portforward, once I had finally figured all that out I really began to build a lot more and host all my creations. My first great influence for building was probably Illusionism, I went as far as basically creating a knock-off HillVille and hosting it. As I kept building more and more I also became inspired by more and more users like Square/below, rowbot, and more. All these inspiring builders really kept me trying new things and have brought me to where I am now.

Your creations are often in great detail far beyond most Brick Hill sets, what inspired this detail?

This question for me is more difficult than the others as I feel there are several reasons/things that inspired me. Probably the most simple and boring reason for my kitchen was just the thought, "Huh, this would be quite a fun thing to try and build," but there's obviously a lot more depth than that. At first, the kitchen was more of me messing around but once I saw how good it was becoming it made me realize that this was what I was meant to be building. As for people, probably the person who most inspired me to try out detailed builds more than anyone is Square. I found his well-detailed builds really intriguing and incredible and he was the one who told me to not be afraid of messing around with things like rotation.

What keeps you motivated in making sets?

I'm sure someone has said this before, but I live for the reactions of people when they see what I've built. Their surprise and support is inspiring and I probably wouldn't have gotten this far with my kitchen without all of you who've put just a nice comment. It's also really satisfying to think that what I'm doing is quite unique that I'm maybe a pioneer of a new style of building.

Of all your creations on Brick Hill, which is your favorite?

If anyone of you know anything about me or my builds, I feel like no surprise comes when I say that the Kitchen is my favorite but, specifically, there are two parts of it I really like, them being the fridge and the and the little white moldings in the front of the build on the island. The fridge is really cool to me because it was the first thing in the kitchen that I had built that I had truly loved, as well as it being the centerpiece of the kitchen for a while. The fridge was probably what gained my build the most traction when I had first started showcasing it. As for the white moldings, I really like these because of how smooth I made them look with just plain old bricks, I find it really satisfying to look at and I'm definitely proud of them. One other thing that isn't a part of the kitchen set that I really like is the Tree Painting in my little build with the fireplace.

Which was the hardest?

Similar to the last question, the Kitchen was easily the hardest, no competition. Specifically, though, it wasn't one of the models like the fridge or toaster oven that I found the most difficult, it was fixing a big mistake I had made far through the development of it. The problem was massive miscalculation. This may not sound too hard of a fix but you must realize that my whole build was in a rotated position, meaning I had to move a whole chunk of my build diagonally back and forth. I did have the reassurance of a backup save but that did not dumb down how fast my heart was beating as I carefully moved 25% of my build using imprecise tools. That definitely taught me to always double check my measurements, I have no intent to experience that again.

What advice would you give to others looking to also create sets on Brick Hill?

Two of the most important factors in building to me and most builders would have to be hard work and immense patience, especially if you chose to try my style of building. All the small movements and scaling require a lot of patience and I'd recommend reference images, unless you feel like doing some full on creativity building. But there is one factor that overshadows even these, and that is motivation. If you have no motivation and you're feeling burnt out, TAKE A BREAK. Healthy breaks are essential if you plan on being a successful builder. Denying breaks can lead to sloppiness and you flat out not having fun, which is not fair to you and your passion for building. Two last pieces of advice are to not be afraid to ask for help or advice, and to also not be afraid to abandon a build if all it's done to you is make you lose interest in building.

What's next for your creations?

The first thing I'm aiming to do is to finish the kitchen once and for all, which shouldn't come as a surprise. I've been working on it way too long and I'm ready to start new projects. As for new things, I'll probably keep trying out smaller scenes, like the fireplace one showcased above, until I gain access to the New Client. On the topic of the New Client, I have some pretty cool ideas reserved for that, some ideas that should hopefully test my skills with larger maps, which definitely need to improve if you compare them to by detail-building skills.

Hello Brick Hill Users,

Brick Hill over the past 4 years has been growing and improving on itself rapidly. It was only a year and a half ago when the site first celebrated reaching 100,000 registered accounts, and only months before that when the entire site was released under a new design. Time flies when you're having fun, and this year one of Brick Hill's biggest years has flown by. Brick Hill's growth and progression over the past few months has been huge, and compared to any other year combined it has grown immensely.

Enough with the intro though, the year has passed and it is time to look into Brick Hill's 2020!

User Growth

What's the platform without the users? Brick Hill in 2020 hit a new record for signed up accounts, and along the way has hit several milestones in the year. In 2020 alone the site grew by 318,000+ accounts, that's roughly 62.7% of all accounts created!

Alongside these big numbers we also hit multiple milestones within the year, with our most recent being 500,000 accounts just recently in December! This growth exceeds any every previous year on Brick Hill combined and we can't wait to see what's to come in the future years.

Shop Growth

Firstly, this year Brick Hill created over 260+ new items for users to wear, alongside this 39 different items either came out special or became special throughout the year. Our biggest month by far was March with 50 items (that's more than an item a day!) with some other peak months being May, April, & December.

But it'd be foolish to just check on the new items of the year, many items were purchased throughout the year, with the most sold item being ivo's Hair reigning with over 15,000 sales in 2020 alone, that makes up 58.5% of the item's total sales! With other items like the Brick Hill Caps reaching over 10,000 sales, an impressive showing!

However there's much more on the market for user-created assets than there will ever be for official items, and this year especially the community has outdone themselves, creating over 131,000 different assets. With 55,200+ shirts (42.5%), 54,300+ t-shirts (42.1%) and 19,000+ pants (15.4%) created in 2020.

Many user assets also gained lots of sales in the year. With the top asset being the Fargo Shirt by Fargo with over 3,500 sales, making up 53.2% of the shirt's total sales. Numerous other assets created by Chris, Milk., Slurp, and Chirpe were also highly sold throughout the year.

Clans & Sets Growth

Right next to the Shop tab is the Clans tab and clans themselves have grown more than ever before in 2020! Whether you're looking to form a group of similar interests, work together on a set, or just find brick hill users with the best usernames, one thing is for certain: Over 2,415 clans were created this year alone, that makes up for roughly 49.5% of all clans created!

Many clans also saw exceedingly high amounts of growth this year. The largest being Rare Usernames[RARE] created by Builder which gained over 15,300 new members in 2020.  That's 68.3% of the clan's total members! Other clans created by spacebuilder, Googie, Glacia, socialism, Brick Hill, & toofy were also among some of the most gained in 2020.

To the left of the shop tab is the play tab, and play is exactly what many did in Brick Hill this year! This year alone over 15,300 sets were created on Brick Hill. Which is an impressive 46.4% of all sets ever created. Alongside this, many creators saw growth in game visits, the largest of which are Illusionism, SmartLion, Dysphoria, & Tylorfoot.

These creators among others created several great sets, whether it be an impressive build or scripting put to work. Many have also been featured on our recently restarted Brick Hill Spotlight series if you're interested in learning more about the creators.

Forum Growth

Finally, the forums. The greatest hotpost of Brick Hill users everywhere, the true brew of communication and activity across the website. To truly show for this, the forums broke numbers far beyond any previous year with over 845,000+ unique threads made and 3,500,000+ unique forum replies made.

Among the most active subforums was firstly, Off Topic taking a large victory with over 680,000+ unique forum threads posted, roughly 77% of all threads ever posted in the subforum. Second being Brick Hill Hub with an impressive 86,000+ unique forum threads this year, 39.3% of all threads posted in the subforum. Lastly, third place was Marketplace, gaining 60,000+ unique forum threads making up 70.2% of the subforum's total threads.

What Happened?

The growth of Brick Hill this year has been far greater than any other year for the platform, and with it came some events and activites, documented below.

Brick Hill Holiday

This year, Brick Hill released 8 different presents for users to collect for the Holiday Season. Some required an objective, some you could obtain with currency, and one even concealed an ARG which notably has only been fully completed by 39 users thus far! Alongside this was a Holiday Theme and some other holiday items were released.

Throughout the duration of the season, a total of 19,500+ presents were collected by users. 2,677 of which that found the clue to the Frosty Present of Winter Cheer, 1,958 that unlocked the Myshka's Present of Slumber, and 3,502 that revisited the past to earn the Classic Present of Christmases Gone.

Brick Hill Tricks & Treats

Another festivity was brought to Brick Hill in mid-October with the Halloween Season. 4 presents were to be obtained, some you could purchase, others you had to hunt for, and some required you tune into our annual Halloween twitch stream! Once again the site was cast under a spooky shadow of hallow colors and several items pictured above were released during this time.

Over the course of this spooky time, over 4,000 gifts were collected, with 668 users hunting down the Ghostly Bag of Creepy Classics and over 700+ unique visitors on our annual twitch stream! What's New?

This year also saw some new exciting changes arrive to Brick Hill, some ranging from quality-of-life changes to overall changing up the way things worked! Check them out below.

Membership Upgrades

At the start of July, Brick Hill rolled out a new system of Memberships, discontinuing the Mint membership but providing additional perks to both Ace and Royal, along with these new exclusive items!

Alongside this was the addition of two new donator related items, the Mom's Credit Card (25$) and Mom's Golden Credit Card (100$).

Official Themes

Starting in the Halloween Season, the ability to change the way your site colors looked was officialy added. By going into the settings tab you are now able to switch the site's colors based off given presets. So far we've utilized this feature for events. However there's more to come soon! Stay tuned.

2-Factor Authentication

The ability to set up 2FA with an Authenticator app was also implemented. This is a setting we heavily suggest for everyone as it'll bring extra safety and security in the event of someone attempting to compromise your account. Visit how to do so in your settings tab & follow the instructions.

New Trading Tab

Finally, the Trading tab also recieved a redesign, making it easier for you to navigate and interact with your trades easily on Brick Hill. It places the trades in a much cleaner side by side view as apposed to the previous mutliple tabs arrangement. Check it out here!

That's all for our look into 2020. The year in itself was by far the biggest year in Brick Hill growth thus far, and in the coming years we hope to bring you new experiences both through the up coming new client and continued support through the website. The Holiday season has arrived, and Brick Hill is setting into full swing in preperation for the season! No matter what you celebrate or who you celebrate it with during this time, Brick Hill has got many festive activites in store for the season and below are some of the festivites happening around Brick Hill!

Festive Sets Arrive

What's one of the first things you can do to get into the holiday spirit on Brick Hill? Jump into some great festive and cozy sets with your peers!

Snowy Mountains

If you were looking for an expansive map to explore sprinkled with festive secrets, look no further than Snowy Mountains created by the user tommytherock, this set is a great one to set out and look around with your friends or even just trek the journey by yourself! It also doubles as another great place to hangout if you're looking to do so in the festive mood.

Candyland

Finally, you can't have the true holiday magic without some fantasy, and the set Candyland created by user Dysphoria  captures that greatly, you can hangout and walk around with your friends amongst the giant candy cane pillars and pink candy terrain!

If you're looking for a festive set to sit down and relax in with your peers to get into the spirit, make sure to check these out! These are hosted 24/7 usually so you can also check them out anytime even after the Holiday season!

Presents & Festive Items

What's the holiday season without some presents? As per Brick Hill tradition there'll be new presents releasing, some you can pick up with your currency, some you'll have to figure out how to achieve, and some may even require.. an ARG! The best part is all the gifts will be opening sometime after you've collected them, what can the rewards possibly be, you'll have to wait to find out!

Additionally, there'll be some festive items coming to the shop, infact some already have! Some will be new, many will be returning, and some you may even have to unlock! There'll be plenty of holiday items ready for you to get your avatar into the season as well, stay tuned!

Holiday Theme

Next, our latest Holiday theme has now been rolled out! The site has been once again cast under a new light, now being a festive and cozy dark theme for the holiday season! This change is only available for a limited time and will be removed in the future, additionally if you're unhappy with the theme you're able to change it out for the normal theme in your settings page under the theme setting.

New Client Progress

As the months, weeks, days, and minutes go by, our progress on getting the new client out to Brick Hill continues! While it is not available to public testing yet, the user rowbot has made some great festive builds within the new client! Above are some images of his set, including the capabilty of the skyboxes and materials of the new client! We'll be giving more information on the new client's details and features soon, stay tuned!

Hello Brick Hill Users, welcome to the fourth edition of the Brick Hill Spotlight! It's been a good 3 weeks since we last met, but we're back once again to cover another great user! Last article we sat down with the game creator SmartLion to learn of his many projects, innovations, as well as some of his tips for other creators looking to inspire. Speaking of inspiration, it's time to head back and find more great talent within the community!

So let's head into the next entry of the series and get caught up with another user who brings quality and inspiration to the Brick Hill Platform, entering into the User Spotlight!

User Spotlight

The Brick Hill Platform gives you a good amount of tools and room to make great works of artistry and aethsetic! Whether you're building a statue, planning out a landscape, or modeling a replica of a building in real life, there's plenty of tools to make some impressive views!

Of the many talented builders on Brick Hill, one of the best when it comes to making amazing looking environments is none other than the user rowbot! rowbot has built several impressive sets with some pictured! He's also collected some of his best projects and put them onto his own website, featuring a blog and downloads to some of his builds as well as other relics of Brick Hill history which you can check out here!

If you thought those sets were breathtaking, rowbot has also made several sets within the new client technology that Brick Hill is currently working on! We've featured some of it on our twitter before and some of his works are also pictured above!

On top of the great artistry for his work on Brick Hill sets, rowbot has also set out to make custom themes to fill the default grey and white color scheme of the website! Although we have recently added themes, rowbot has been working on colorful and creative themes for years! Some add snow, some are modeled after Brick Hill site concepts, some even give your page a nice computer emulated touch! You can check out his collection of themes here! (You will need to also download this Chrome extension, these themes are only available for computer).

These themes have been downloaded in the hundreds, and rowbot's sets have been enjoyed by many for their true inspiration and quality, I had a chance to get in touch with rowbot and asked him some questions about his works and what he'd say to those looking to make similar projects, those questions are down below.

How'd you find Brick Hill and what kept you?

I surprisingly found Brick Hill while browsing through a Discord server, someone on the chat told me that Brick Hill just became public and it looked cool. I've decided to give it a try and, it indeed looked cool. Brick Hill's "Lego-ish"artstyle and community always looked appealing to me, and I guess that's what kept me in Brick-Hill.

What keeps you motivated to make new projects on Brick Hill?

One thing that motivates me is trying to make something that someone has never made before, I really like to surprise people, and seeing their reactions, as for the example, the Halloween Livestream build. I intentionally kept this build a "secret" so everyone could be surprised on the livestream. But what REALLY motivates me the most is when someone likes my projects. Really, just a simple "cool" is enough to make me wanna build more.

How do you come up with your custom themes?

I usually come up with an idea that I think it would look pretty cool on Brick Hill. Like back in 2019 Brick Hill didn't have a Halloween theme, or neither a Christmas one. I thought it would be really cool if Brick Hill had these seasonal themes, and so I've made a few tests with a custom Halloween and Christmas theme and shared it on the forums. People liked it, so I made them into a real thing.

Of all your builds on Brick Hill, which is your favorite?

That's a difficult question.. Probably my favorite one is the "Late Winter Night", which was one of my first "Major" builds. While I was creating this map, a lot of personal stuff was going on, and it has a really special place on my heart. I really like the general aesthetics and "cozy" feelings it has. (..or maybe I just really like snow). I sadly never hosted it because I can't port-forward on my router. If you are interested on it you can read more about it on my website. Which was the hardest?

Hmm... I can't really tell what it is at this moment, but I will tell one thing, it's massive. Finding the "perfect" colors, lighting, and aesthetics is really difficult on a big build like this, and having it to make it playable is even more difficult, since the player can look at basically everything. I sadly cannot show it right now, but I'm really excited to show it to the community.

Which of your custom themes is your favorite?

The "BrickOS" theme. I think it's such an original and cool idea having a website with a "System OS" inspired theme. And the best part is that you can customize the theme with your own background and colours choice, making it look like your personal computer. You can find the download for it here.

What advice would you give to others looking to create builds on Brick Hill?

Patience and your motivation is key to everything. You may not start as good as you think it would be, or it might take a while to build it, but keep in mind that you have actually made something. You need to be proud of yourself. Every build is unique and has it's own aspects. There isn't a "better" or "worse" build, there's just different "build-styles". For the building part itself, I would say to set on a theme first, and then start working on it. Always remember to be Creative, Patient (You will need a lot of patience), and put some effort. I can assure you, after some time of building you will look at your own build and be like "Wow, I built this??". Also music can also help you build too.
